James 4:6 - But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." I Peter 5:5 - All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." Humility is a prerequisite to receiving grace. Pride creates opposition and resistance but, humility causes us to be open and receptive to grace. The proud display an attitude of self-sufficiency and live as though they have no need for God. The humble, on the other hand, recognize and acknowledge their total dependence on God and their need for His grace. Humility toward God and others is vital to good relationships. We are admonished in Scripture to trust in the Lord with all of our hearts, to lean on Him, and to acknowledge Him in all our ways. We can be assured that He will daily give us all of the grace we need for every situation. Grace and Peace.
