John 1:17 - "For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." Jesus is the revelation and manifestation of grace. John 1:14 - "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:16 - "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another." Moses = The Law - the commandments on tablets of stone hurled angrily at sinful people. Jesus = Grace and Truth - God coming to sinful people, not with condemnation or anger, but, with love and compassion. Quite a contrast, huh? Grace is all about a Father who loves us so much and wants to be sure that we don't mistake his heart and intention by sending His Son as the expression of his great love for us. The law makes us self-conscious and we experience guilt and shame. Grace embraces us and we experience acceptance and forgiveness. Grace is more than a doctrine, it is a Person. Grace came... Grace came through... Grace came through Jesus Christ... Jesus Christ, full of grace and truth... One blessing after another... Thank God for Grace! Grace and Peace
