Faith Overcomes...

We overcome by faith. 1 John 5:4b (NIV) - "This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." Our faith in God is what makes us victorious. Jesus told his disciples that in the world we would experience trouble, hardship, difficulty, and so on but that we could be of good cheer because He had overcome, and through Him, we also would overcome. We are called to fight the good fight of faith, being confident that we will be victorious if we persevere in faith and don't give up. As soldiers of the Lord we must always lift up the shield of faith. With this faith, the Bible says that we can defend against the fiery darts the enemy unleashes against us. So, you can see how vital faith is in battle and struggle. We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ. Like Paul, fight a good fight, finish the course, and keep the faith!
