Moses + Faith - Pt. 3

Hebrews 11:28 makes one more comment concerning Moses and how he led God's people out of captivity in Egypt. It started by him confronting Pharaoh to let God's people go, the plagues, and then ended with the instructions for Passover. "By faith he (Moses) kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel." God gives him precise instructions on how to save the firstborn of Israel and in doing so deliver the people from slavery. It took faith to follow the detailed orders leading to their liberation in the same way that it takes faith to follow God's instructions for us today. Sometimes what God asks from us does not make sense but by faith we trust and obey. The passover lamb serves to remind us how Jesus was the Lamb of God slain for our sins and how His blood applied to our lives delivers us from destruction today. Thank God for the blood that was shed for our salvation. Now when we celebrate communion we remember the body of Jesus that was broken for us and His blood that was shed for our forgiveness.
