Faith is an excellent starting place, but God wants you to add to your faith. This is a process beginning with Faith and culminating in Love. Let's look at these verses in 2 Peter 1:5-8 (NIV) - "For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." Faith is the important starting point for the journey that leads us into fulfilling God's divine purpose. These qualities listed here are what provide the power for effectiveness and productiveness. Start with faith, keep the faith, but don't forget to ADD to your faith. Then we will possess everything that we need to live the God-life.
