Moses + Faith - Pt. 2

Our faith has a definite effect on our choices and decisions. As we continue with Moses' faith journey let's take a look at the next verses in Hebrews 11:25-27 - "He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible." Only a deeply rooted faith in God and His promises and rewards can cause someone to choose pain over pleasure, suffering over comfort and convenience, future reward over instant, temporal gratification. Moses' values were changed because of his faith. Faith also is the source of courage to act boldly without giving in to fear of painful consequences. Finally, faith sees the invisible - how ironic - seeing what can't be seen. He endured and persevered because of his faith-vision. Great lessons to ponder from the life of Moses.
