Hebrews 12:2 (NIV) - "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Jesus is the initiator and finisher of our faith. If there was ever a time that we need to keep our eyes on Jesus, it is now. As we face the difficult challenges of our days, we are encouraged by the endurance of Jesus when He had to face the cross. In the same way that Jesus persevered by looking past the suffering to the joyful reward we too must forget what is behind and reach for what lies ahead and press on in faith. Keep your eyes on the prize. That is also what all the heroes of faith did. It's our turn now to lift up our eyes and keep our hearts and affections on Jesus. The first part of Hebrews 12:2 in the AMP Bible reads: "Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]." Keep the faith!
