Appointed To Praise

David loved to praise God! When he returned the Ark of the Covenant back to the place he had prepared for it, he for the first time organized and appointed singers and musicians to offer praises to God 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 1 Chronicles 16:4 (NIV) - "He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to make petition, to give thanks, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel:" This entire chapter shows the detail and care taken to insure that continual praise would be offered to God. Check it out. Verses 8,9 say he gave them further instruction: "Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts." Today, we who are saved have also been chosen and appointed to praise the Lord. We are assigned, designated, set apart, ordained, ordered, and commissioned to offer continual praise to our God. This is a great honor and priviledge. Don't forget: you have an appointment to praise!
