Declare His Praises!

Let's take a look at this verse in 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) - "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." We are called to open our mouths, and whether through speech or song, declare His praises! Notice what it says about us, His children, that gives us the right to proclaim His excellence. 1) We have been chosen by Him. 2) We are kings and priests. 3) We are set apart or sanctified for Him (Made Holy). 4) We are His people - He purchased us. 5) He took us out of darkness and brought us into marvelous light. For all of these reasons - we have the privilege and right to praise Him, to exalt Him, to declare His virtue. So we fulfill our calling every time we sing or speak praises to our God. Praise Him!
