Praise Word # 4 - 'Tehillah'

The fourth Hebrew word for praise is Tehillah. (sounds like tequila) :) A couple of examples of its use are in Psalm 30:12 (NIV) - "...that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will thank you forever." And Psalm 35:18 (NIV) - "I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise you." Tehillah means: To sing hymns, to make a public declaration of glory, to laud or to brag on, to make noise or commotion. When you praise God in this way you are not hiding, not being secretive nor remaining silent, but rather, you are going public with your expressions of admiration and thanksgiving. Hymns exalt and declare the works and attributes of God. If you have something to say about God, don't keep it inside, let it out! - Sing it! Make some noise! - declare it! - Praise the Lord!
