To sacrifice means to offer up, give up, or surrender. We please God when offer up praises from our lips to Him. Hebrews 13:15 (AMP) - "Through (Jesus) Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name." In the same way that a tree bears fruit after its kind, (apple, peach, orange, etc.), so a grateful heart offers utterances of praise the give glory to God. It is so important the we 'acknowledge' (make known) God, - who He is, what He has done, and what He means to us. The focus of praise is on the recipient and not on the giver of the praise. We shine the spotlight on Jesus when we offer up our praises, whether spoken or sung, from our lips. Let us open our mouths and declare our praises to our faithful, wonderful, merciful, kind and loving, awesome God!
