Praise Word # 7 - 'Shabach'

The seventh and final Hebrew word used for praise is Shabach. Two examples of verses that use this word are in Psalm 63:3 (NIV) - "Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you." And Psalm 117:1 (NIV) - "Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples." Shabach means: To shout in a loud tone with joy; to glory, to commend, to declare triumph or victory (extol). This is the unreserved, unashamed, full-blown shout of praise to God. Nothing held back, the Shabach praise lets everyone know the LORD is your God. No secret whispers, but rather, full volume declarations and shouts of victory and glory. God is worthy of such praise. Once in a while, just open up and let out a shout of praise. Praise the Lord!
