Accept One Another

We all long for acceptance. To be embraced and loved in spite of our faults, shortcomings, and weaknesses is something we all need. The Bible says we have been accepted by Our Heavenly Father because of our standing in Jesus Christ, His Beloved Son. Based on that acceptance, we are to do the same. Romans 15:7 (NIV) - "Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God." Acceptance means to: taking or receiving favorably, to give approval, favor, to give approbation. In the same way that we are validated and made secure when someone accepts us as we are, let us accept one another. Remember that we ourselves are not perfect. Be open to receive others and leave the changing and transforming job to the Holy Spirit. This pleases the Lord since He accepts us just as we are.
