Firm Hope

The hope that we have in God is firm when it is based on the faithful promises of God. We can be sure of what we hope for because God always comes through for those who trust in His word. 2 Corinthians 1:7 (NIV) - "And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort." God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort who comforts us in all of our troubles according to His promise in this chapter. We cannot avoid pain and suffering, however, we can definitely count on God's comfort. Paul says in this same passage in verse 10 that God has delivered us, will deliver us, and will continue to deliver us from peril and despair. We can set our hope on Him. We have the testimony of His comfort in the past, presently, and that gives us confident hope for future comfort and deliverance. Let your hope be firm.
