Be Devoted To One Another

Romans 12:10a (NIV) - "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love." What does it mean to be devoted to someone? The dictionary defines devoted as: To give or apply (one's time, attention, or self) entirely to a particular activity, pursuit, cause, or person. It also means to be loyal of faithful to someone and implies dedication. The Greek word used in this verse is philosorgos which means to have kind affection for someone. It is best demonstrated the loving dedication one has for his own family. We are to be devoted to one another as if they were our family - brother or sister, father or mother - which we are, since God is our Father and we are His children. We are to give ourselves to sharing, caring, protecting, and attending to one another. Devote yourself to those of the household of faith.
